In the 24 hours ending on 8 am Monday several parts of Mumbai recorded over 200 mm of rainfall. The IMD has predicted that certain areas in and around Mumbai are highly likely to witness heavy rainfall over the next three to four hours. Heavy rains in low-lying areas led to waterlogging and disruption of suburban train services.
