Milan Loses Again in Third Outing
Milan's Winless Streak Continues
A.C. Milan has extended its winless streak to three games, after falling to Sassuolo in a Serie A match on Sunday.
Milan had a slow start and went behind in the 19th minute when Sassuolo's Armand Laurienté scored. Stefano Pioli's side equalized through Olivier Giroud in the 24th minute, but Sassuolo regained the lead just before half-time when Domenico Berardi converted a penalty.
Milan pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but could not find a way past Sassuolo's defense. The defeat leaves Milan in fifth place in the Serie A standings, 12 points behind leaders Napoli.
Lack of Cohesion and Injuries Hurt Milan
Milan's poor form has been attributed to a lack of cohesion and injuries to key players.
The team has struggled to find its rhythm after a busy summer transfer window, which saw the arrivals of several new players, including Charles De Ketelaere and Divock Origi.
Pioli has also been without a number of important players due to injury, including Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Milan Faces Tough Fixtures Ahead
Milan's next match is against Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Rossoneri then face a tough run of fixtures in Serie A, with matches against Juventus, Inter Milan, and Atalanta coming up.
Pioli will need to find a way to turn things around quickly if Milan is to challenge for the Serie A title this season.
