Film Titled 'Killing Gawker' to Explore Legal Battle
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's production company Artists Equity is developing a film about the controversial legal battle between former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan and Gawker Media.
The film, currently titled 'Killing Gawker,' will focus on the 2016 court case in which Hogan sued Gawker for invasion of privacy after the website published a sex tape of him. The case resulted in a $140 million verdict against Gawker, which ultimately led to the company's bankruptcy.
The film will explore the complex legal issues involved in the case, as well as the personal toll it took on Hogan and Gawker founder Nick Denton. It will also examine the broader implications of the case for freedom of the press and the right to privacy in the digital age.
