Hunter Greene Returns from Injury, Reds Aim for Strong Finish

Cincinnati Reds Rookie Pitcher Back on Mound After 60-Day Absence

The Cincinnati Reds activated rookie right-handed pitcher Hunter Greene from the 60-day injured list on Saturday. Greene had been sidelined since June 19 due to right hip pain. He was initially placed on the 15-day injured list before being transferred to the 60-day list.

Before the injury, Greene had a 4.40 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 65.1 innings pitched this season. He also made his Major League debut this year.

The Reds are hoping that Greene can provide a boost to their rotation down the stretch. The team is currently 58-67, which is the third-worst record in the National League. Greene is expected to make his next start on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

"We're excited to have Hunter back," Reds manager David Bell said. "He's a talented pitcher who can help us win games. We're looking forward to seeing what he can do down the stretch."

Greene is also looking forward to getting back on the mound.

"I'm just happy to be back," Greene said. "I've been working hard to get back to where I was before the injury. I'm confident that I can help this team win."
